The Good Beer Guide to New York: Where to Find and Drink Good Beer in New York
Published in Paperback by Running Press (November, 1995)
Average review score:

The Best Way to See New York: Through a Beer GlassWith its useful maps and anecdotal entries, this pocket-sized guide is the perfect companion for a day or a lifetime spent in the New York metropolitan area. It lists location, atmosphere, menu items, tap and bottled beer brands of all the important and some not so important watering holes in NYC and beyond. I never leave home without it. I am constantly making notes and additions to it though as it is slowly become dated. I only pray there is a revised edition on the way.

Good Wood Routers
Published in Hardcover by Popular Woodworking Books (April, 1996)
Average review score:

A practicale book devoted to the ELU RouterI had the chance to read the book in French and I must say that there are not a lot of books like that ( there is more than 40 in English, lucky you!) written in French . It is possible for for me to compare because I read some of them in English... In fact you will discovre a very clearly written book, with plenty of very nice colored illustrations, changin from the B/W illustration of some, a logic distribution of the chapters. In other words I recommand it absolutely. Charles Rydel

Grandmother Stories from the Heart of Texas
Published in Hardcover by Eakin Publications (April, 2003)
Average review score:

Poignant Vignettes of GrandmothersFinally, a book that captures stories in the from of "treasures" to be passed down for generations to come. I have yet to see a book like this in which writers, some well known and others not, share their grandmother story. It is a window to days past, filled with life instructions and wisdom that we can use in our lives today to nuture our own soul. The editor, Jane Austin Bruckner, shows us how influenced we are by our grandmothers, even after they are long gone. What I found personally inspiring is the section on how to write your own grandmother story. I hadn't considered that before. Thank you!

Grape Growing and Winemaking: A Handbook for Cool Climates
Published in Hardcover by Altarinda Books (June, 1981)
Average review score:

A gem for the new grapegrowerAs a complete beginner to viticulture I have found this book absolutely invaluable. It covers all aspects of cool-climate grapegrowing in a readable and accessible manner, with clear text and diagrams concerning site and variety selection, planting, establishment, pruning and training, pests and diseases, and winemaking. The section on grape varieties has excellent photographs, and a superb introduction gives an overview of the cooler grape-producing regions of the world. Written in New Zealand, this is however a "must" for all new grapegrowers, no matter where the "terroir". My copy is starting to show signs of over-use!

Great Trails for Family Hiking: The Tetons
Published in Paperback by Pruett Publishing Co. (June, 1995)
Average review score:

An on the money, great family plannerThis book was the most well used and helpful of the several that we took along on our Teton vacation. It was absolutely exact in everything from its trail descriptions, to which forks to take for what results, to whether or not insects would bother us on a particular hike. We used it daily to plan our upcoming adventures. I appreciate having a hiking book geared toward young families, and this one surely enabled us to enjoy many great and unforgetable hiking experiences with our 3 children. I love the off the beaten path and hidden places that the author so expertly describes. Many times we felt that we were the only people in the park.

Guns for a Cattle Woman
Published in Digital by Renaissance E Books ()
Average review score:

A Real Find for Women Western FansThis is the kind of book you thought they never wrote! From 1919, it begins when the heroine pulls her sixgun and shoots the villian in the arm! The hero is from the East and finds Judith, who rides, ropes and shoots, unfeminine at first. But as they try to save her ranch from unscrupulous men, they slowly fall in love. When Judith is kidnapped, she saves herself and undergoes a true western ordeal. Lots of romance and action.

Gurp's Supers: Super-Powered Roleplaying Meets the Real World
Published in Paperback by Steve Jackson Games (March, 1996)
Average review score:

Fine Superhero roleplaying. THIS BOOK CANNOT BE IGNORED!!!If you're watching those "Superman" cartoons on a daily basis, you may enjoy this greatly. But if you're recording them, like me, this is a must have. "Supers" is an indespensible book to have at your side during any Gurps campaign, PERIOD. But if you're into superhero rpg's of any kind, i.e. "Champions" or anything based on an existing comic book company's universe, you may very well hear yourself let out a sigh of relief. This game allows thorough freedom/creativity/POWERS!!! you name it, it's got it. Including a great deal of oddly appealing pre-made super powered characters. Ever wish that "Captain Laser" could battle Cthulu in space? Me neither, but it certainly is something to think about. I give this book all the stars in the world. 5, I suppose. See also other GURPS titles.
